Farzaneh Taidi : فرزانه تأییدی : (born 1945 in Tehran – passed away on March 24, 2020, in London) was an Iranian actress in cinema and theater. She played roles in films such as "Bedoone Dokhtar-e Manoo," "Faryad Zir Ab," "Safar-e Sang o Khak," and the television series "Talaagh" directed by Masoud Asadollahi.
She was a well-known and beloved actress in Iranian cinema and theater before the 1979 Revolution, often remembered for her performance in the film "Faryad Zir Ab" alongside Dariush Eghbali. After the revolution, she continued her acting career in films like "Mirath-e Man, Jonoon" directed by Mehdi Fakhimzadeh, but her activities were restricted from the early 1980s. She was expelled from the Ministry of Culture without a specified reason.
Biography:
Childhood: Farzaneh spent her childhood and education years in various cities, including Isfahan, Kerman, Kermanshah, and Khuzestan. Her father was a military man. She had the opportunity to travel around Iran during her childhood and adolescence due to her father's military service. Farzaneh developed a love for ballet in her childhood, attending ballet classes for a while, but later her true passion shifted towards theater.
Theater and Marriage: She officially started her career in theater at the Dramatic Arts Administration. After a year and a half, she got married to Parviz Kardan, an actor, and playwright. The short-lived marriage resulted in the birth of her son, Keyvan. During her five and a half years of activity at the Dramatic Arts Administration, she participated in over 30 television and stage plays.
Travel to the United States: In 1967, Farzaneh traveled to the United States with her father. During her five-year stay in the U.S., she attended night classes at prestigious California colleges, where she learned about Western history and acting on stage. She considered watching various plays during this time as the most valuable experience for her artistic career.
Return to Iran: In early 1972, Farzaneh returned to Iran and resumed her career in Iranian cinema and theater. She collaborated with Behrouz Behnejad and continued to work alongside him in various TV and cinematic projects. This partnership lasted until her death. She played a significant role in the film "Faryad Zir Ab."
After the 1979 Revolution, Farzaneh continued her activities but faced challenges. In 1980, she joined the official employment of the Theater Programs Administration of the Ministry of Culture and Art. However, in 1980, she was expelled from her position without a specified reason, according to an official decree issued by Hassan Habibi from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. The decree mentioned that she was considered surplus to the needs for advancing the goals of the Islamic Revolution, leading to the termination of her rights and benefits.
