Biography

Iraj Ghaderi (April 17, 1934 – May 6, 2012) was an Iranian film director, screenwriter, actor, and producer. He had a notable career with 41 films as a director, 4 as a screenwriter, 71 as an actor, 9 as a producer, and 1 as an editor. His first cinematic work was acting in the film "Cheshmeh-ye Ab-e Hayat" in 1959, and his last work was directing and acting in the film "Shabake" in 2010.

Ghaderi was born in Tehran in 1934. He started his career in cinema with the film "Cheshmeh-ye Ab-e Hayat" in 1959. He played various roles in Iranian films, gaining fame for his performances. Ghaderi co-founded the film company "Panorama" in 1962 with Moshe Oskar. He continued his activity in the post-revolutionary era, making films such as "Barzakhis" (1981), "Dada" (1982), and "Taraj" (1984). However, due to a ban on his activities, he did not make films for several years.

After a hiatus, Ghaderi returned to filmmaking with the drama "Mikham Zendegi Konam" in 2009 and his last film, "Shabake," in 2010. He passed away on May 6, 2012, due to bladder cancer.

Ghaderi's contributions to Iranian cinema are significant, and his impact is recognized by filmmakers such as Saeed Soltan Ahmad, who credited him for laying the foundation for the "Satisfaction" series. Ghaderi's film "Patogh Zamin Nazar" is among his successful works, and he is remembered for his valuable contributions to Iranian cinema.
