Adam Barfi : آدمبرفی (فیلم ۱۳۷۳) : "The Snowman" is an Iranian comedy film written and directed by Davood Mirbagheri, starring Akbar Abdi, which was produced in 1994. The film was withheld for three years, finally being released in 1997, and it became the highest-grossing film of the year in Iran. "The Snowman" made its way to public screening in Iran three years after being withheld from the 13th Fajr International Film Festival.
Plot: The film narrates two parallel stories that eventually converge. Initially, it introduces an Iranian man named Abbas Khakpour (played by Akbar Abdi), who travels to Turkey to obtain a United States visa but fails. Concurrently, it follows a woman (played by Azita Hajian) living in Turkey, working in a hotel, unable to return to Iran. Abbas decides to disguise himself as a woman, planning to marry an American man to acquire the visa. However, after encountering Donya (Azita Hajian), he falls in love with her and decides to abandon his plan to move to America, opting instead to return to Iran with Donya in his original male persona.
